  2. Is WhyBrilliant a recruitment agency, or are you hiring for your own roles?

    One profile, one conversation — and we do the rest. WhyBrilliant works with a wide range of partner companies, from ambitious startups to established scale-ups, and we occasionally hire for our own team too. On top of that, we continuously scan public job boards and only surface the roles that genuinely fit your profile and what you're looking for. No endless scrolling, no irrelevant listings. More doors, less effort.

  3. Who is Nina?

    Nina is your WhyBrilliant AI — the conversational agent you'll speak with when building your profile. She asks the right questions, listens carefully, and builds a picture of who you are that goes far deeper than a CV ever could. Think of Nina as your personal career advocate: the more you share, the better she can represent you.

  4. Who is Finn?

    Finn is WhyBrilliant's employer-facing AI agent, working behind the scenes with hiring companies to surface the right candidates from our pool. You won't interact with Finn directly — but Finn is a big part of why your profile gets in front of the right people, fast.

  5. Is the AI I'm speaking with actually an AI — not a human?

    Yes, and we're upfront about that. Nina is an AI — built to ask better questions than most humans in a screening call, without the awkward small talk or scheduling delays. We believe transparency matters: you should always know who (or what) you're talking to.

  6. What companies does WhyBrilliant work with?

    A growing mix of startups and scale-ups, primarily across Europe — the kind of companies where your work actually makes a difference. We can't always name clients publicly due to confidentiality, but we'll always tell you exactly who a role is with before you commit to anything.

  7. Is WhyBrilliant free to use as a candidate?

    Always and completely. WhyBrilliant is free for candidates — no hidden fees, no premium tiers. We're paid by the companies we work with, not by you. Our incentive is simple: find you the right role.

The application & profile-building process

  1. Why do I have to answer all these questions if I've already submitted my CV?

    Because your CV tells us what you've done — but not who you are or what you actually want next. The conversation with Nina fills in everything a CV can't: your working style, what motivates you, where you want to go. That's what gets you matched to roles that are genuinely right, not just technically similar to your last job. It takes 10–20 minutes and makes a real difference to your results.

  2. Can I just upload my CV without going through the conversation?

    We get it — you're busy. But the conversation is where the magic happens. A CV gets you in the door; the profile Nina builds gets you the right offer. Hiring managers care about more than credentials, and so do we. Complete the conversation and you'll see better matches.

  3. What happens to the information I share during the conversation?

    It's used to build your candidate profile and match you to relevant opportunities — nothing else. We never share your profile with a company without telling you first and getting your explicit go-ahead. And if you ever want out, simply email privacy@whybrilliant.com and we'll delete everything. No hoops, no hassle. You're always in control.

  4. Can I pause the conversation and come back to it later?

    We recommend completing it in one sitting for the best experience — it only takes 10–20 minutes. But life happens. If you need to step away mid-session, don't worry — just log back in and pick up exactly where you left off. Your progress is saved automatically.

  5. I've spoken to the AI before — does it remember our previous conversation?

    Yes — Nina remembers. Your previous conversations are stored and inform future sessions, so you never have to repeat yourself. The more you've spoken with Nina, the better she understands you and the sharper your matches become.

  6. Can I send you my portfolio separately?

    At the moment, there's no separate upload option — but you don't need one. Just tell Nina about your portfolio, projects, or work during your conversation. Describe what you've built, what you're proud of, and what you want hiring managers to know. Nina will capture it all and make sure it's part of your profile.

Trust & credibility

  1. Can I trust an AI with my career?

    Fair question. Here's how it works: Nina builds your profile and advocates for you — making sure you're only put forward for roles where you're a genuine fit. Finn then presents your profile to the hiring manager at the relevant company. If they're interested in meeting you, we'll reach out to ask if you'd like to proceed — and only then make the introduction. You're never committed to anything without your say-so first.

  2. Is this proven? Does it actually work?

    Yes. Candidates in our network are getting in front of hiring managers they'd never have reached through a job board — without sending a single cold application. The best proof is trying it yourself. It's free, it takes one conversation, and you've got nothing to lose.

  3. Will I get spammed with irrelevant opportunities?

    No. Quality over quantity is the whole point. We only reach out when there's a genuine match — roles that actually fit what you're looking for, not a scattergun of job alerts. If anything we send doesn't feel right, tell us and we'll recalibrate your profile.

  4. What if I'm not actively job searching right now?

    Perfect time to get set up, actually. Many candidates in our network are passively open — not sending applications, but ready to move for the right opportunity. Creating a profile is free and takes one conversation. We'll only reach out when something genuinely relevant comes along, and you decide whether to pursue it. No pressure, ever.

  5. Can WhyBrilliant help me if I'm switching careers?

    Yes — and we're good at it. During your conversation with Nina, be open about where you've been and where you want to go. We look at trajectory and potential, not just your last job title. The more context you give us, the better we can match you with companies open to non-traditional backgrounds — and advocate for you when we make the introduction.

Matching & next steps

  1. How does the matching process work?

    Once your profile is complete, Finn analyses your experience, skills, preferences, and goals against open roles across our partner network and presents your profile directly to relevant hiring managers. In addition, we'll also surface relevant public job postings that match your profile — so you get a complete picture of what's out there, not just our exclusive roles. If a hiring manager is interested in meeting you, we'll reach out to ask if you'd like to proceed. You'll only ever hear from us when there's a genuine match worth your time.

  2. Do you only consider direct-skill matches, or do you also look at transferable skills?

    Both — always. A strong direct match is a good signal, but we also weigh transferable skills, domain experience, ownership level, and where you're headed. If you're open to adjacent roles, say so during your conversation and we'll factor it in. Your whole profile works for you, not just your job title.

  3. Will I be considered for this specific role I applied to, or just general matches?

    Both. A specific role you expressed interest in gets evaluated first — and your profile keeps working for you in the background, matching against other relevant opportunities as they come in. We'll always be upfront about which role and company we're talking about before anything moves forward.

  4. How soon can I expect to hear back after my conversation?

    You don't need to apply anywhere — we come to you. As soon as your profile is complete, two things happen automatically. For partner roles: Finn continuously scans our partner network and, whenever he spots a strong match, presents your profile directly to the hiring manager. If they're interested, you'll hear from us — typically within 1–2 weeks. For public job matches: Finn also screens public job boards and surfaces roles that fit your preferences, delivered to your inbox shortly after your initial conversation with Nina.

  5. Will I keep receiving job recommendations over time, or is this a one-time thing?

    Definitely not one-time. Your profile stays active and we keep working for you — matching against new roles as they come in and reaching out when something fits. Think of it as having a recruiter in your corner, quietly looking out for you. And if you're no longer looking, you can deactivate your profile at any time from your account settings.

  6. What happens after I'm matched — what do the next steps look like?

    For WhyBrilliant partner roles: Finn presents your profile to the hiring manager. If they want to meet you, we reach out to ask if you're interested. You say yes — and we make the introduction. The hiring company takes it from there. You never apply cold. For public job matches: Nina identifies public postings that fit your profile, we send them to you by email, and you decide which ones to pursue directly.

  7. If I'm not a match for a current role, will I be told — or will I just hear nothing?

    You'll always hear back from us. If your profile doesn't match the specific requirements of a role, or if the hiring manager decides not to move forward, we'll let you know. Either way, your profile stays active and Finn keeps working — matching you against new partner roles and public opportunities as they come in.

  8. Will an introduction ever be made without my knowledge or consent?

    An introduction to a hiring manager will never be made without your explicit go-ahead — that's a firm commitment. However, as part of the matching process, Finn will present your profile to hiring managers for roles where there's a potential fit. That's how we find out if there's mutual interest in the first place. If a hiring manager wants to meet you, we'll ask you first. You stay in control of every actual introduction.

Communication & updates

  1. How will I receive updates — by email, through the platform, or both?

    Primarily by email, so keep an eye on your inbox. You can also log into your WhyBrilliant dashboard at any time to see your matches and application statuses.

  2. Where can I see my job matches?

    Log into your WhyBrilliant profile dashboard — your matches are all there. You'll also get email notifications when new ones land. If your dashboard looks empty after completing your conversation, give it 10 minutes or drop us a message and we'll check what's going on.

  3. Can I reach out to someone if I have questions or want an update?

    For job updates, matches, and application status — it's all in your WhyBrilliant profile dashboard, updated in real time. For anything else, drop us a line at hi@whybrilliant.com and we'll get back to you.

  4. I already completed a session but haven't heard back — what should I do?

    First, check your spam folder — our emails sometimes end up there. If it's been more than 10 minutes and you've heard nothing, reach out to hi@whybrilliant.com directly and we'll look into your profile status straight away.

Roles, locations & scope

  1. What types of roles does WhyBrilliant recruit for?

    We focus on tech, product, engineering, commercial, and go-to-market roles, primarily at mid-level to senior and leadership level across startups and scale-ups. If you're ambitious and experienced, you're in the right place.

  2. Is WhyBrilliant global, or do you focus on specific regions?

    We're primarily focused on Europe, with a growing network. Some roles are fully remote and open internationally; others are location-specific. We'll always be clear about geography when we present an opportunity — no nasty surprises.

  3. Does WhyBrilliant work with companies that offer visa sponsorship?

    Some of our partners do, some don't. If sponsorship is important to you, make sure to mention it during your conversation with Nina — we'll filter accordingly and only surface roles where it's on the table.

  4. Are the roles mostly remote, hybrid, or on-site?

    All of the above — it depends on the company and role. We'll always include working arrangement details when we share an opportunity, so you can make an informed decision before going any further.

Data, privacy & security

  1. How is my personal data and CV kept secure?

    Your data is stored securely and only ever shared with hiring managers with your explicit consent. We comply fully with GDPR and take our responsibilities seriously — your information is not for sale, ever. Full details in our privacy policy.

  2. Who can see my profile and conversation transcript?

    Nina (our candidate AI) sees your full conversation and profile to build and refine it. Finn (our employer-facing AI) uses your profile to match you against roles and presents it to relevant hiring managers. Hiring managers only see what Finn shares for a specific role — never your private conversation with Nina. The WhyBrilliant team has access to transcripts strictly for technical support and platform improvement. Your current employer will never see your profile. You can manage your profile visibility in your account settings at any time.

  3. How is my consent obtained before sharing my profile?

    We contact you by email before any introduction is made, explain the opportunity, and only proceed once you've explicitly said yes. No surprises, no shortcuts.

  4. What if I want to be removed from your database?

    Just ask. Email privacy@whybrilliant.com and we'll delete your profile and all associated data in line with GDPR. No questions asked, no hoops to jump through.

  5. Is my data shared with LinkedIn or any third parties?

    We don't sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing purposes. We use a small number of trusted service providers (hosting, AI, communications) to operate the platform — all under strict data processing agreements and GDPR compliance. Full details are in our privacy policy.

  6. Is this conversation being transcribed? Who sees it?

    Yes — your conversation with Nina is transcribed and used to build your candidate profile. It stays private between you and Nina. Our engineers and customer support staff may access transcripts strictly for technical support and platform improvement. It's never shared with hiring managers or published publicly. Using the platform

  1. How do I access my WhyBrilliant profile?

    Head to whybrilliant.com and log in with the email address you registered with. Your profile, matches, and application status are all there.

  2. How do I end the chat session?

    Hit the “End Chat” button when you're done — everything saves automatically so nothing is lost. You can also close the browser tab, but using the button ensures the session closes cleanly.

  3. What should I do after I end the chat?

    Nothing — you're done. Your profile is submitted and we get to work. Keep an eye on your inbox for updates, and log into your dashboard any time to check your status. The ball is in our court now.

  4. I don't see any jobs on my dashboard — is something wrong?

    Not necessarily — give it 10 minutes after completing your conversation for your profile to be processed and matches to appear. If it's been longer than that, get in touch at hi@whybrilliant.com and we'll investigate.

  5. Can the AI assistant speak languages other than English?

    Yes — Nina can conduct conversations in multiple languages, including English and German. Just let her know your preference at the start of your session and she'll switch.
